My husband Charles and grandaughter Shevawn at Kirby School Grandparents' Day during science class. They look pretty intent on their experiment, don't they? :-) And a photo at lunch of Charles, me, our friend Dorothy and Shevawn's mom Erin (our daughter). It was such fun to walk around the school from class to class. Brought back memories of our own high school days. Were they so long ago? Alas, yes!

Happy Birthday, Charles!

My husband Charles turned 81 on Sunday. Doesn't he look great? I'm so proud of him. We had a great day at the Monarch Butterfly Festival at Natural Bridges State Park. Then went to our daughter's for a delicious lunch and homemade cake. Life is very sweet right now and we are so grateful.

God Hides in Plain Sight--Great New Book

Author and journalist Dean Nelson has written a powerful book that is both down-to-earth and profound--showing readers, as the subtitle states, 'how to see the sacred in a chaotic world' by opening our eyes to the presence of God in everyday life so we can see and experience the many sacred moments we might otherwise miss. I particularly like the way he incorporates humor and humanity from his own life as he opens up new ways of looking at and embracing the sacraments. In my opinion, this is a 'must-read.' Pick up two copies--one for yourself and one for a friend.
