Happy New Year!
Today is the first day of the new year and I am reminded, thanks to a card I received from my friend Mary-Ellen for my birthday last year, that 'My life is writing itself'--writing in thought, in action at the keyboard, in prayer to God who gave me the gift of writing and in books and articles and e-mails and blogs. Words matter. Because this is true for me, I like to choose a word to focus on each year. For 2009 it is TRUST. In years past I've selected Joy, Praise, Gratitude, etc., but this year Trust feels right.
I wish each of you who read this entry a year of peace and joy and holy trust in the One who can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.

Thank you. I like your word of the year. I'm going to adopt it for myself, also. It seems like a lot of the things I've read lately in devotionals and scriptures point in that direction. Happy New Year.
Thank you, Karen. I just posted "TRUST" directly above my computer screen as a positive reminder for 2009. Happy New Year and I pray you and Charles will have a wonderful, healthy, and joy-filled year.
Blessings,
Elaine
Karen,
TRUST does feel right for this year—especially with a new president coming into office and the economy the way it is. But, no matter what, I trust God to carry me through.
Thanks for the reminder! And Happy New Year to you, too!
Sherry
Hi Karen, Nice word for the year. For what is coming up the road, trust would be a great word. Trust in Him to carry us through.
